These daily SEL check-in journals are definitely o These daily SEL check-in journals are definitely one of my favorite resources I've created.⁣
⁣
Every day includes 4 important parts:⁣
⁣
1. An emotions check-in. This is the space kids can share their feelings and thoughts they need to.⁣
⁣
2. Positive affirmation of the day. Here, students will learn a new self-talk statement.⁣
⁣
3. SEL skill. Students will learn a new social-emotional skill and practice it.⁣
⁣
4. Mindful moment. Finally, students will end with a calming activity to set the tone for success.⁣
⁣
If you're curious (and I hope you are) I'll add the link in my profile @pathway2success1 for you to see more!⁣

⁣
But when families hear the positive first, it helps set the tone for success. And it does make a difference.
Why SEL belongs in schools! I wrote this article a Why SEL belongs in schools! I wrote this article after reading someone make a statement that social emotional learning does not belong in schools. I truly believe a lot of that comes from misunderstanding, so I hope I can help clear some of that up, even if just for a few people.⁣

Reflection questions can be an awesome end of the Reflection questions can be an awesome end of the day routine to build community!⁣
⁣
To give it a try, just gather for the last few minutes and chat. It really requires no prep or extra work. You can pick a question to talk about or have students select a question they want to answer.⁣
⁣
It's a great way to end the day on a positive note.
