I'm a big believer in giving kids responsibilities I'm a big believer in giving kids responsibilities in the classroom or school. This can be a huge confidence-booster! What are some classroom jobs you assign to your students?
Social-emotional learning improves academic achiev Social-emotional learning improves academic achievement. If we want kids to do well academically, we have to integrate social-emotional skills too. It's not one or the other. It's both.
Time management is a complex executive functioning Time management is a complex executive functioning skill that we're all working on (kids and adults alike).⁣
⁣
Some examples of strong  time management in action you can talk about include:⁣
⁣
- Prioritizing which homework assignment to start first. Which one do you tackle first? How do you know?⁣
⁣
- Pacing yourself during a test, quiz, or working session. How can you find your just-right pace?⁣
⁣
- Checking a project to make sure you're set to complete it by the due date. How can you set mini-deadlines to make sure that happens?⁣
⁣
It's an important skill and it's worth talking about!
