Summer time is the perfect time to talk about outd Summer time is the perfect time to talk about outdoor social skills activities. Even when it wasn't summer, my students loved water plants and helping see something grow that they helped nurture. Gardening is so therapeutic!
Kids NEED connections. Now, let me say that connec Kids NEED connections. Now, let me say that connections don't fix every problem. Sometimes kids can have connections and still struggle.⁣
⁣
But all too often kids are labeled as lazy or unmotivated when what they need is connections with adults and/or peers. Motivation isn't magic. It usually starts with meaningful relationships. It's just something to consider and keep in mind.
This is a really important point to make. It's mor This is a really important point to make. It's more important for kids and teens to complete work on their own and in their own way than it is for the work to be "perfect" by our standards.⁣
⁣
This builds confidence.⁣
⁣
It teaches independence.⁣
⁣
It develops a sense of pride with work.⁣
⁣
It may not be easy, but it's worth it.
